Temporary export controls on some Chinese graphite products,will it affect the export of graphite machined products?

Announcement on Temporary Export Control of Graphite Products from China 

The notice stated that from December 1, 2023, when this notice comes into effect, the "Implementation Decision" announced in 2006 will be repealed. In the previously announced implementation decision "Other artificial graphite (3801100090)", other "products made of graphite (3801900000)", "graphite and other carbon products for non-electronic equipment (6815100000)", "diameter 610 ㎜±3㎜ carbon "electrodes (8545110010)', 'other carbon electrodes (8545110090)', 'other imprinted electrodes (8545190000)' and 'battery carbon rods and other graphite products (8545900000)' have been designated as temporary exports Controlled objects.

 

This time China’s graphite product export controls involve three items:

1. High purity, high strength, high density graphite;

2. Spherical natural graphite;

3. Natural flake graphite.

(PS: The procurement requirements for high-purity, high-strength, and high-density graphite for industrial purposes can be exported normally after being approved by the commerce department.)

 

There is no impact on the export of graphite machined products for the time being.
